Traffic Information Release – Foynes Air Show – Saturday, 22nd July

An Garda Siochana in consultation with the event organisers will put the following traffic plan in place to minimize traffic congestion on the routes to and from Foynes Air Show.

Road Closures

On Saturday, 22nd July the N69 through Foynes Village will be closed to vehicles from 11am to 6pm from its junction with Local Road L6114 at Barracks Cross to its junction with local road L6117 Bolands Meadows and the L 6118 from its Junction with N69 (beside Reidy’s Centra) to its Junction with L6114.

Car Parking

Car Park – Port

There will be dedicated car parks to faciliate traffic coming into Foynes from the Limerick/Shanagolden side in the vicinity of the Port.  Car parking at a charge of €10 per car (includes parking, bus drop off & collection, and Air Show Brochure) will be available.

Please follow the signs for the car park and directions of event stewards and An Garda Siochana.  All attendees are to utilize the bus transfer provided by Dublin Coach to Foynes Village.  This is a three minute journey.  The drop off/collection point is a two minute walk from the main viewing area.  Buses will run each direction for the duration of the event up to 6.00pm.

Car Park  – Leahies Cross

This is available to facilitate traffic coming from the Tarbert/Glin direction at a charge of €5 per car (car parking only). Please follow the signs for the car park and directions of event stewards and An Garda Siochana. The main viewing area is a ten minute walk from this car park.

Parking for visitors with Special Needs

Designated parking for visitors with special needs will be available close to the Main Viewing Area.  This will be open to receiving vehicles up to 1pm.  All visitors utilizing this parking area must be in possession of an official disability badge and display same to avail of this car park.

Tow Truck

A tow truck will be operation for the day and will tow any cars causing a disruption/danger to traffic and emergency routes.

None Event Traffic

Those travelling in the environs of Foynes who do not wish to attend Foynes Air Show are asked to consider choosing an alternative route to avoid getting caught in event traffic.

A diversion via Shanagolden, Mount David, Five Crosses to Loghill will be in place for traffic going to Kerry from the Limerick Side and a diversion will be in place from Boland’s Meadow via the Five Crosses to Barracks Cross for traffic going to Limerick from the Kerry side.  As event traffic may also be on this route please allow extra time for your journey or consider an alternative route.
